Description

The LT3007 simultaneously functions both as a Fiber Optic Mode Converter/Repeater and a 2 Channel Wave Division Multiplexer. It converts multimode format to single mode formats (and vice versa) and combines Tx/Rx signals for transmission over a single fiber. Transmitting Tx/Rx signals over a single fiber benefits users by either doubling existing cablecapacity or reducing cable requirements by one-half.

The LT3007 accepts l3l0nm (850nm version also available) from both single or multimode duplex fibers and outputs the combination of 1310nm and I 550nm wave-lengths over a single fiber. It is transparent to incoming data and protocols.

Applications for the LT3007 include cross connecting different fiber types, extending transmission distances and regenerating optic signals. Because of its multiplexing capability, it is frequently used to increase fiber optic cable capacity in LAN environments that require connecting different fiber types or wavelengths. The LT3007 is compatible with all popular connectivity technologies including Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, TAXI, ATM and SONET (OC 1 & 0C3).

The LT3007 provides users with several key features including Optical Receiving Status Indicators, Audible Alarm Buzzer, Dry Contact Alarm, Power Redundancy and Stand Alone or Rack Mount modularity. Standalone versions are modular, i.e. used either in a Stand Alone case or in a Rack Mount Card Cage.

Built-in power redundancy is standard and provides load sharing and automatic switch over in the event of a failure. Power can be either 12VDC, -24VDC, -48VDC, Il5/230VAC.

Fiber optic connectors are ST or FC type.
